Intensive Behavioral Intervention Program
What are Intensive Behavioral Intervention Services (IBI)?
Intensive Behavioral Intervention is a Medicaid reimbursed service that is available to children with developmental disabilities who display challenging behaviors. IBI therapists work with the children to develop positive behaviors and the skills they need to function in typical home and community environments. ISI is a one-to-one service that is individualized for each child. IBI is not the name of a nationally recognized service of name of any single approach.

Who qualifies for IBI Services?
Children must be found eligible by the Department of Health and Welfare before they begin to receive IBI services and be evaluated at least annually for continuing eligibility. To be eligible a child must:
    •    Be determined to have a developmental disability as defined by Idaho Code.
    •    Have severe maladaptive behaviors as measured by the Scales of Independent          Behavior-Revised with a score of minus 22 or lower.
    •    Have a severe limitation (perform at 50 percent or less of normal age level) in          verbal and nonverbal communication or social interaction or leisure and play               skills

Who Provides IBI services?
Our agency provides services that will benefit your child in a safe and healthy environment. Our IBI professionals conduct assessments and develop individualized IBI implementation plans that will benefit the entire family.

Family Support Services’ Specialists:
Our staff of competent, caring, well-trained individuals are responsive to the needs of our clients, their families and the communities we serve. Each staff member meets the State of Idaho’s educational and training requirements for the services they provide. Our staff is encouraged and supported in their continuing education and training pursuits.
